TURNER — MSAD 52 Adult and Community Education has many upcoming classes on their schedule.

For the technology minded, Microsoft Excel Intermediate will begin on Monday, Oct. 19. With the 2007 version, attendees will learn to sort and alphabetize, delete columns and rows and freeze panes among other features. Excel Advanced will begin on Monday, Nov. 9.

Also starting on Oct. 19 will be a Microsoft Word 2007 basics class. Participants will become familiar with features such as headings, references, page layout and more. The class is good for those who have an older version of Word and are thinking about upgrading, already have, or who want to learn about Word 2007.

Keyboarding for Beginners will start on Monday, Nov. 9. The three-week class will teach the basics of typing and how to control the mouse.

There is still time to sign up for the class entitled “Write Your Story” which starts Monday, Oct. 19. The class will concentrate on giving participants the time and space to focus on writing, along with the necessary direction to get beyond the blank pages. In four weeks, participants may go from wanting to write to finishing a short story.

A one-morning class will teach attendees how to use a touch of Southern, Caribbean and Latin flavors to soulfully cook greens, cornbread, chicken, black-eyed peas and rice. Dessert will be a surprise. The “Soul Food” class takes place from 9 a.m. to noon
Saturday, Oct. 24.

There is still time to sign up for these classes. To register and pay, visit msad52.maineadulted.org or call the Adult Education office at 225-3478.
