Veterans’ activities

RUMFORD — A Veterans’ Memorial Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, at St. Anthanasius and St.
John’s Church. Following the Mass, there will be a light lunch downstairs.

There will be a Veterans Day ceremony at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at Mountain Valley High
School, with a lunch at the V.F.W. Hall following the ceremony.

All veterans and their families are requested to attend and veterans are encouraged to wear medals and campaign ribbons.

Hunters’ breakfast

MEXICO — A hunters’ breakfast will be held from 4:30 to 8 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at King Hiram Lodge, Route 2. The cost will
be $5 for adults and $3 for youth. The menu will consist of home fries, eggs,
beans, bacon, sausage, toast, orange juice and coffee. Takeouts will be available. For more information, call 597-2955. 

Public supper

EAST BETHEL — The Alder River Grange will have a public supper at 5
p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7. The menu will be a turkey supper with all the fixings. The cost for adults will be $7; under 13, $3; veterans, free.

Snowmobile club

MEXICO — The Mexico Trailblazers Snowmobile Club will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov 4, downstairs of the Mexico Fire Station. All are welcome. 

Class lunch

MEXICO — The Mexico High School Class of 1953 will have a class luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, at the Covered Wagon.

Nickel beano

DIXFIELD — The Neighborly Senior Citizens will sponsor nickel beano on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at the Dixfield Legion Hall. Doors will open at noon with beano being played from 12:30 to 2:30 pm. Everyone is welcome. For more information, call Connie at 364-4189 or Carol at 364-4798.  

Public supper

RUMFORD — A public roast pork supper will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Blazing Star Lodge, Route 232, in Rumford Corner.

The menu will include mashed potatoes, pork, green beans, cole slaw, stuffing, applesauce, bread, coffee, punch and pie. The cost for adult will be $8; under 12, $4. Takeouts will be available.

Landowner dinner

DIXFIELD — The River Valley Riders ATV Club will host their annual landowner appreciation dinner at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 18, at the Webb River Valley Sportsman Club, Canton Point Road.
Those attending should call 562-8873 by Tuesday, Nov. 10, with the number of people attending and with their choice of chicken or pork.

Ski passes

RUMFORD — Black Mountain is giving season’s passes for skiing to all of
the students in kindergarten, first and second grades in the
new RSU 10 and Holy Savior School. Season’s passes can be obtained at the mountain from
4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6.
