TURNER — Many holiday activities and fundraising events will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at the Turner Public Library and Turner History Museum and Historical Association during the sixth annual Winter Festival with open houses.
Mrs. Claus will read in the library at 11:30 a.m. and again at 1 p.m., while Santa will spend the day greeting visitors in the museum.
The preschool and kindergarten story hour with Jennifer Talbot and Jeannie Prince will start at 10 a.m at the library, and crafts will be available from noon to 1 p.m. for children to make and take, including gingerbread cookie decorating.
Throughout the day, local crafters will exhibit and sell their wares and the library will take final bids on its silent auction items donated by area businesses and individuals. Apple crisp and ice cream will be served and the “Turner Family Favorites” cookbooks will be on sale.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. the museum will sell its 2010 calendars with photos of life in Turner during the 1800s; conduct its raffle and drawing for the locally handcrafted quilt; sell Christmas decorations of door swags, centerpieces and poinsettias; and have a bake sale with pies, breads and fudge.
