BOWDOIN — A surprise 50th wedding anniversary dinner party was held Sept. 19 for John and Pauline (Masse) Firczak of Bowdoin at the Brunswick Golf Club in Brunswick. The couple was married on Sept. 19, 1959, at Holy Cross Church in Lewiston.

The event was hosted by their children and spouses, Jodie and Yvon Gilbert, John and Michelle Firczak and Joyce and Keith Martin. The couple’s six grandchildren participated in the special celebration, beginning with a tribute and toast by Johnny Firczak and J.P. Arnoldy. The family chef, Jordan Martin, prepared the food, while Ashley Firczak, Colton Martin and Morgan Gilbert, along with their special friends, helped in the kitchen and served the guests a buffet.

The couple is also blessed with three great-grandchildren. More than 100 guests were present, coming from near and far, to celebrate this joyous occasion. The couple resides in Bowdoin.
