Steven W. Morse Sr.
1954 – 2009
AUBURN – Steven Wendell Morse Sr., 54, a resident of Morse Hill in Jay, went peacefully with his sons and family by his side to his “hunting camp” in heaven, Saturday, Dec. 12 at Hospice House of Androscoggin in Auburn.
He was born Dec. 22, 1954, in Wilton, the son of Stanley and Barbara (Tilton) Morse. He was a 1973 graduate of Jay High School. He was raised on the Morse Hill Farm in North Jay, as a young man he worked and became a skillful logger throughout his life and worked at Norwalk and Bass
shoe shops. Steve had a great love for the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman and worked with horses and cattle on the farm and at the fairs.
His greatest joy in his life was spending time with his sons at home and at the Morse hunting camp.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara Tilton Morse
of Jay; two sons, Steven Morse Jr. and his wife, Amy, of Auburn and Shane Morse of Jay; two grandsons, Wyatt Stanley Morse and Tate Donald Morse; and little friends, Emma and Keegan; his brother, Dana Morse of Jay; and two
sisters, Marilyn Morse of Jay and Robin Morse Jordan and her husband, Robert, of Raymond; former wife, Debra Whitehouse Morse, of Lewiston; former companion and mother to Shane, Jill Therrien Best, of Livermore; and present companion, Melodie Dalot, of Jay; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Stanley Morse; and his niece, Marissa Sue Morse.
