Loon calendars
edition of the Stanton Bird Club calendar is now available. The
calendar features the photography of Stanton Bird Club members Dan
Marquis and Jim Walker and includes 13 photos of the common loon.
All
proceeds from the sale of the calendar will benefit the bird club’s
Thorncrag Nature Center Project. To preview the calendar or order,

Bridge play
LEWISTON — The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club
winners of the quarterly club championship at the Multi-Purpose Center
on Dec. 14 were as follows: first, Sherrie Hinckley and Les Buzzell;
second, Lue Bilodeau and Luke Merry; third, Marta Clements and Nancy
Lindgren; fourth, Larry Fortier and Roger Labbe.
Games are played
at 9 a.m. Mondays and Tuesdays and at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays at Schooner
Estates. A partner is guaranteed and all bridge players are welcome.

(everyone plays the same hands) bridge games in the area.
AARP meeting
LEWISTON —
The Androscoggin Chapter of AARP will meet at 1:15 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21, at the Multi-Purpose Center, 145 Birch St. Entertainment will be provided by Roger Bouffard, who will play Christmas music. There will be refreshments. The board members will meet at 12:30 p.m., prior to the general meeting. Guests are welcome.
Grange program
POLAND — Excelsior Grange 5, 446 Harris Hill Road, will meet
at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19. In addition to celebrating
Christmas during the lecturer’s program, the featured speaker will be
Dr. Viliam Zvalo from New Minas, Nova Scotia, a soil scientist working
in the Annapolis Valley of the province.
Anyone interested in improving
their gardens and crops will be welcome to attend the
agricultural event. There will be refreshments served at the conclusion
of the meeting.
Sing-along
TURNER — There will be a sing-along from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, at the Old Town House, Turner Center. Santa will be in attendance.
