Dixfield Town Office employees wrapped up their first-ever food drive Monday afternoon. Food-drive coordinator, Theresa Hemingway, assistant town clerk, is shown with the donated food.
Several boxes of perishables, including four turkeys donated by municipal employees, were gathered as well as with $55 in cash. The donations will be given to the Dixfield food pantry housed at the Common Baptist Church. The food drive is the third and final collection held during the holiday season at the town office. Last week, Christmas for Kitties raised $200 and collected dozens of containers of cat food and litter. The week before that, local residents donated enough snack items to fill 40 boxes that were then sent to soldiers serving in Afghanistan.
