LEWISTON — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing at Central Maine Medical Center is offering a free three-part workshop series, “Growing Through Cancer: Your Personal Toolkit,” to cancer patients, survivors and caregivers.

The first session, “Ten Steps to Wellness,” will take place on the CMMC campus at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11, at 12 High Street in conference room A. Presenter Marcy Covey will teach participants how to learn to their body’s natural wisdom to experience an improved sense of well being, happiness and fulfillment.

Covey serves as a wellness instructor for CMMC’s Wellness Center, where she teaches yoga and leads Fit-n-Fun exercise classes for seniors. She also assists with the Dempsey Center’s Wellness for Life program, introducing cancer patients and survivors to yoga.

Follow-up offerings will include “The Art of Listening” on Feb. 8 and “Letting Go of Anxiety” on March 8.
