Edward Little 60, Brewer 59, OT

BREWER – Senior guard Yusuf Iman made a 3-point field goal with 1.8 seconds remaining in overtime to lift Edward Little to a 60-59 victory over Brewer in KVAC boys’ basketball action Friday evening.

The Red Eddies (11-2) were down by 10 in the fourth quarter, but came back to tie the game at 53-53 on a inside basket from junior forward Bowen Leary. Leary scored a team-high 19 points with 10 rebounds, while Iman contributed 17 points for Edward Little.

Junior center James Philbrook also recorded a double-double for Edward Little with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Senior guard Dom Drake notched a game-high 20 points for the Witches (11-2) in the hard luck loss.

Mt. Abram 66, Lisbon 61

LISBON – Jim Barker sank 7-of-8 free throws down the stretch to finish with a game-high 35 points and enable Mt. Abram to pull away for a 66-61 victory over Lisbon in an MVC boys’ basketball game Friday.

The game was tied for much of the fourth quarter until Mt. Abram (3-9) took command in the final two minutes.

The Roadrunners led 15-11, 35-34 and 46-44 at the quarter breaks.

Joey Lampron chipped in with 13 points for Mt. Abram. Steve Obie led Lisbon (1-11) with 14 points, while Chris Whitney added 13 points and eight rebounds and Scott Eck had 11. Toby Harrington had a team-high 10 rebounds.

Livermore Falls 62, Georges Valley 35

LIVERMORE FALLS – Livermore Falls opened up a huge lead in the first quarter and pulled away for a 62-35 victory over Georges Valley.

The Andies put the game away with a 15-3 spurt in the opening period and Georges Valley never recovered.

Derek Castonguay led the Andies (10-3) with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Nate Michaud and Tom Ventrella chipped in with nine points apiece. Ventrella also had 11 rebounds and four steals.

Logan Cross led Georges Valley (5-7) with 16 points.

Forest Hills 52, Rangeley 47

RANGELEY – Corey Plante piled up 28 points and Evan Worster had 13 as Forest Hills (7-3) shook off Rangeley with a 52-47 victory in a boys’ basketball game Friday.

\Forest Hills held a slim 24-23 lead at halftime before pulling away in the fourth quarter with 15 points.

For the Lakers (2-11), Jordan Richard had the hot hand, hitting four 3-pointers and tallying 15 points. Eric White dropped in the team-high 16 points, which included a pair of 3s.

Elan 47, Seacoast 28

LEWISTON – Elan held Seacoast Christian to 12 points through three quarters to coast to a 47-38 triumph in a Class D basketball game.

Jack Peters led Elan (6-3) with 16 points and seven steals, while Elvis Rueda added 12 points. Gabe Schwartz chipped in with 12 rebounds and four blocks.

Jay Archer scored 11 points, nine from the foul line, to lead Seacoast (4-6).

Bangor 40, Lewiston 34

LEWISTON – Cal Winchester hit four free throws down the stretch for Bangor to ice a 40-34 victory over Lewiston in KVAC boys’ basketball action Friday.

The Rams (11-2) migrated to a 26-20 halftime lead on identical 13-10 first-half quarters. Maxx Alexander contributed five field goals, including a pair from 3-point range, and one free throw for a team-high 13 points.

The Blue Devils (2-11) attempted a last-quarter run, but failed to make a game-tying 3-pointer just before Winchester’s four free throws. Senior guard Ronnie Turner notched double-double for 16 points and 14 rebounds for Lewiston in the losing effort.

Hall-Dale 41, Jay 37

JAY –  Senior guard Ryan Leach guided Hall-Dale to a 41-37 victory over Jay in MVC boys’ basketball action Friday.

Leach scored 14 of his 20 points in the second half as the Bulldogs (8-4) had to make a mad dash for the buzzer in the final quarter. They were deadlocked 30-30 at the end of three with the Tigers (6-6).

Senior forward Austin Clark and junior center Kyle Storer notched double-doubles for Jay. Austin had 14 points and 15 rebounds, while Storer tossed 10 points and hauled down 10 rebounds.

Mountain Valley 72, St. Dom’s 43

RUMFORD – Mountain Valley dominated the glass and the fourth quarter to pull away from St. Dom’s, 72-43, in MVC boys’ basketball Friday night.

Cameron Kaubris scored 24 points to lead Mountain Valley, while Brady Fergola added 10 points and 11 rebounds and Izaak Mills 10 points. Peter Keaney led St. Dom’s (7-5) with 23 points.

The Falcons (13-0) led 49-40 after three periods before blowing the game open with a 23-3 fourth quarter. They outrebounded the Saints, 49-17.
