Derosby

WINTHROP — The wedding of Elaine Richelle Keene and Keith Roland Derosby was held on Aug. 8 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Winthrop. The Rev. William Modlin officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Derosby is the daughter of Eugene and Kathleen Keene, Jr. of Auburn. Mr. Derosby is the son of Robert and Selwa Derosby of Waterville.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white organza with Empire waist and beading along the waist band and she also wore a layered fingertip veil. She carried a bouquet of pink roses and dark pink Gerbera daisies.

Shannon Cherner, best friend, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Nicole Chapman and Alyson Keene, sisters of the bride, Meghan Clements, cousin of the bride, Stacy Derosby, sister of the bridegroom, and Jenora Schultz and Cara Mulcahy, college friends. Junior bridesmaids were Caroline Littlefield and Hanna Keene, cousins of the bride, and Zoe Derosby, niece of the bridegroom. Isabel Derosby, niece of the bridegroom, was flower girl.

Serving as best man for the bridegroom was Alan Derosby, his brother. Ushers were Craig Derosby, another brother, Zach Tirrell, Joel Dyer and Jonathan Dyer, friends of the bridegroom, and Calvin Hunter and Tommy Hunter, cousins of the bride. Junior groomsmen were Nicholas Derosby, nephew of the bridegroom, and Brandon Case, cousin of the bride. Vincent Lupardo, second cousin of the bride, was the ring bearer.

A reception followed at the Senator Inn in Augusta, after which the couple traveled to the Sandals Resort in the Bahamas. They are residing in Auburn.

The bride is a graduate of Edward Little High School and the University of New England. She is a certified special education teacher at Edward Little High School and is also varsity softball coach.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Waterville Senior High School and the University of Maine at Farmington. He received a master’s degree in technology in the classroom from Thomas College and is studying for his master’s degree in school counseling at Husson University. He teaches mathematics and coaches boys’ basketball at Messalonskee High School in Oakland.
