JAY — Three people will vie for a 16-month term for selectman in Tuesday, Feb. 16 election.

Polls will be open that day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the town office, Town Clerk Ronda Palmer said Friday.

Those running for the position are George J. Doiron, former Selectman William “Bill” Harlow and F. Timothy “Tim” DeMillo, Palmer said.

A fourth candidate, Michael Collins submitted 26 signatures on a nomination paper before deadline Thursday but three of those signatures were not registered voters, Palmer said. A call was placed to Collins on Thursday and a message left to have him come back and get the remaining signatures but he didn’t, she said.

The election winner will succeed Steve Barker, who resigned in December.
