Poland 56, NYA 37
YARMOUTH – Senior center Michael Littlefield notched a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead Poland to a 56-37 victory over North Yarmouth Academy in WMC boys’ basketball action Friday.
The Knights (6-12) were holding on to a thin one-point lead at the half. But, they came out strong in the third quarter, exploding for 25 points in a 25-8 run. Senior guard Kyle MacVane posted 15 points, including a pair of treys in the mix.
Senior forward Chris LeBlanc paced the Panthers (3-15) with a team-leading 13 points in the losing effort.
Girls’ hockey
NYA 8, Pingree School 0
NORTH YARMOUTH — Courtney Dumont netted a hat trick as North Yarmouth Academy blanked Pingree School, 8-0, in girls’ ice hockey action Friday.
Dumont added an assist to the score sheet, while Katherine Millett scored a pair of goals. Leanna Hatchborn and Ashley Salerno added a goal and an assist. Mariah Farrell and Alex Barnes combined in net for the shutout for the Panthers (12-9).
