Is there something that really irks you? Something about your job, your family or the stuff you have to deal with every day? Share it. E-mail your peeves to [email protected] or mail them to Sun Journal, attn: b section, P.O. Box 4400, Lewiston, ME 04240, and we’ll print them here. Please keep your gripe to under 60 words.

My gripe is people who drive cars and do not use their directional signal when turning. Also, those who try to go through a red light after the amber light has turned to red. How much gas or time do they really save as opposed to the risk they take?

How about employers doing credit checks as part of your background check? Most people have financial problems, circumstances beyond their control — illness, medical conditions that require a lot of follow-up visits. There are many other reasons why people fall behind, such as lack of hours at their jobs. Why should credit reports determine if a person gets a job or not? How about work ethic? Doesn’t that count for something? Look at people and their qualifications. Don’t judge them by a credit report. You don’t know what put them in that situation.

The Mount Auburn Avenue and Turner Street intersection (past Walmart leading to Center Street or the overpass) has two straight lanes. T-W-O! When I’m nearly sideswiped and the fellow in the wrong has his child flip me off, apparently believing there’s only one lane (it’s been two for quite some time) and laying on his horn and making a fool of himself, I wonder if his children will grow up just as charming as he is.
