FARMINGTON — Farms, farmstands and area businesses that sell locally grown or produced goods are invited to list their businesses in the 2010 edition of “Mabel’s Book: A Guide to Farms & Farmstands in Western Maine.”

The deadline for submissions is March 1. The early-bird rate has been extended to Feb 23.

Now in its fourth year of publication, “Mabel’s Book” features information on more than 100 farms in Oxford, Franklin, Somerset and Piscataquis counties, in addition to articles on when produce is in season and how to buy local meat, cheese and dairy products. “Mabel’s Book” is available free to the public through town offices, libraries, local businesses and the Western Mountains Alliance, or by visiting the Western Mountains Alliance Web site.
