LISBON — Philip W. Sugg Middle School teacher Marilyn Curtis has been selected to participate in the Governor’s Academy for Science And Math Leadership.

While at the academy, Curtis will meet with other teachers from around Maine and the United States to discuss the current areas of science and math.

Curtis said that she would “like teachers to be enthusiastic about what they do
and spread this enthusiasm to their students.” She will share what she learns at the academy with everyone in Lisbon education.

Curtis has been a science and math teacher since 1990. In 2002, Curtis was a finalist for Teacher of the Year.
