RANGELEY — A benefit for the Wetherill family, who lost everything when a fire destroyed their home, will take place at 5 p.m. Friday, March 5, at the Club House.
Friends and neighbors are gathering items to be offered for sale at a silent auction during the event. More information may be obtained by calling the Club House at 864-9955. Along with the silent auction, there will also be a benefit food buffet and early entertainment will be provided by local band Joe and Scott.
At 7:30 p.m., Funky and Soulwinkle: The Legend, will perform.
The band is composed of Devin Gray, son of Linda and Jeff Gray, Rangeley summer residents, drums; Sam Barsh, keyboard; Will Jones, saxophone; Ryan Blotnick, guitar; Chris Higgins, bass; and Mark Tipton, trumpet. They will play a funky, afro-dance/pop groove-based, mixed with original jazz compositions and energetic solos. The band will also play at The Bag at Sugarloaf on Saturday, March 6.
A benefit donation of $10 will be collected at the door.
