ANSWER: It is getting more and more difficult to find postal mailing addresses for celebrities. There is a Web site where you can purchase them, but it’s not in Sun Spots’ budget, and she’s not sure they’d be accurate or useful anyway, since most celebrities use the Internet to connect with their fans. It’s much cheaper for them to post photos on the Web and let users download or print them than to print and send out photos in the mail.

There are, of course, dozens of pictures of Danica on the Internet, but Sun Spots didn’t find a mailing address. One posting said her fan club had closed in 2008. Her Web site, www.danicaracing.com, offers the following information: She was born March 25, 1982 in Beloit, Wisc. She played the flute and sang in the choir in high school. Danica is married and lives in Phoenix. She has a miniature Schnauzer named Billy. In her spare time she likes to shop, and she religiously watches “Regis and Kelly.” An avid fan of music, she likes everything but classical and country.

Personal information on Kasey was even harder to come by. He was born April 10, 1980, in Enumclaw, Wash. He likes to play basketball and grill. Kahne is also passionate about his philanthropic activities, which include working with his charity, the Kasey Kahne Foundation (296 Cayuga Drive, Mooresville, NC 28117). Kahne created the foundation as a way to give back to chronically ill children and their families as well as disadvantaged youth. Every year the KKF raises funds for these causes through several events, including sprint car races and benefit concerts.

Lastly, Hillary Scott. Sun Spots discovered that there are two famous Hillary Scotts — one is a porn actress, the other the singer in the country band, Lady Antebellum. On Wikipedia, it says that she records with Capitol Records in Nashville, so you could try writing to her care of them at 3322 West End Ave., Nashville, TN 37203.

Sun Spots recently read that although CD sales are down that country music fans buy more CDs than lovers of other types of music, so it would behoove Capitol Records to respond to your request.

Not having computer access does limit your options. With Internet access, you could see dozens of pictures of your favorite stars, read their facebook fan pages and even see videos of their performances. One option is to visit your local public library. Most libraries have a computer for public use, and if you visit when it’s not too busy, the librarian can show you how to find your favorite celebrities.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Can you find the address for sending mail to Darrell Waltrip, commentator for NASCAR racing? I much admire him and how he presents on TV. — Marilyn via e-mail

ANSWER: He has his own Web site, www.darrellwaltrip.com, but it’s for his automotive group. Apparently, he owns several auto dealerships. A more promising site is http://msn.foxsports.com/nascar/page/AllWaltrip with pictures and blog entries about NASCAR events. Once again, Sun Spots was unable to find a mailing address, but if you go to the msn.foxsports.com site, they have an online contact form where you could submit your thoughts.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have a lot of cards to get rid of. Do you know if St. Jude’s Ranch is accepting them now?

I would like to know why WCSH Channel 6’s Caroline Cornish didn’t show a picture of her baby when she came back on TV.

ANSWER: On their Web site, it says that St. Jude’s was accepting cards from Nov. 15 to Feb. 28. For future reference, the address is St. Jude’s Ranch for Children, Recycled Card Program, 100 St. Jude’s St., Boulder City, NV 89005. And you can call them at 877-977-SJRC (7572).

As for Caroline Cornish, even if she’d wanted to show her baby’s photo, her editors and producers probably wouldn’t have let her. A reporter’s job is to present the news, not be the news. There are also privacy and security issues for them to consider. Not everyone is always pleased with being featured on the news!
