RUMFORD — A story published on Page A1 on Wednesday should have reported that Monsignor Daniel P. Beegan was ordained as a priest by Patriarch Michal I, also known as Archbishop J. Paul A. Boucher of Berlin, N.H. Beegan is now under the jurisdiction of Bishop Heyward Ewart of Jacksonville, Fla., and through Ewart, of Metropolitan Archbishop Joel Clemente of the Philippines. Beegan was promoted, not ordained, as a monsignor. He attended the University of Vermont and an online college for a degree in pastoral psychology and spent five years studying for the priesthood. The information was incorrectly reported by the Sun Journal.
