The Life Center and the SHAREcenter recently made a collaborative donation to the Lewiston Maine SPCA. The two Auburn nonprofit organizations often work together to provide services to the surrounding communities. The joint effort brought shredded paper and hand-braided cat toys to help support the efforts at the animal shelter. The shelter will use the shredded paper under the small animal cages. The cats toys were made from donated scraps and pieces of felt and polar fleece. The SHAREcenter worked with the students in the Community Learning Club at Sherwood Heights Elementary School in Auburn at an afternoon workshop to turn the recycled materials into 54 braided cat toys. Pictured with the donations, from left, are Scott Wilson, Deb R. and Joe Hebert.
