LEWISTON — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing at Central Maine Medical Center will offer a free six-week workshop for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers titled “Visual Journaling for Self-Reflection and Healing.”

Sessions will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays, April 7 to May 12, in CMMC’s CMHVI Conference Room.

Presenter Helen Warren, who brings more than 40 years of experience as an artist, educator and healer, will discuss ways to explore visual expression as a path to wholeness and a way of deepening and embracing all levels of the experience.

Visual image-making has potential to unleash creative energy that nourishes the body and eases physical and emotional stress. The goal of the workshop is to establish a personal practice for reflection, nourishment and healing through the use of a variety of basic visual art media, including the process of Touch Drawing.

Participation is limited to 12 and early registration is encouraged. To register, call the Dempsey Center at 795-8250 or toll-free 1-877-336-7287. For more information, visit www.dempseycenter.org.
