100 years ago, 1910

A their garage on Main street Lewiston, the firm of Rand & Harvey will handle for the season 1910 the new model No. 60 Stanley Steamer. During the 13 years of the Stanley people’s manufacturing of automobiles they have made many improvements, but their new model No. 60 is far ahead of anything previous.

The Stanley has come to stay, and in the future will establish many new records adding new laurels to those already won by its ascent of Mt. Washington in 1899, a most remarkable feat.

50 years ago, 1960

Plans for a public supper to be held at Jordan School on Saturday night, March 12, were announced last night at a meeting of the Jordan Band Parents Association. The supper will be a part of the fund raising efforts of the association for the school band.

Principal Joseph F. Mahan and James H. Moffitt Jr. are co-chairmen of the event which is being put on by the men of the association.

25 years ago, 1985

Auburn police were notified by Ace Security at Auburn Mall that one of their guards had found a 100-pound bag of frozen meat and shrimp in the parking lot Monday afternoon. Ace Security was holding the package waiting for someone to claim it, police said.
