The Lewiston Jr. Maineiacs Mite Extended Play hockey team won the Mighty Mites Championship at the University of Maine’s Alfond Arena last weekend. The team beat Casco Bay Earthra 7-2, Central Maine 8-1, Bangor 12-1, before beating Casco Bay Thunder 7-0 in the semi-finals. The Jr. Maineiacs faced the Jr. Black Bears in the championship game and won a hard-fought battle, 6-4. Jr. Maineiacs players are Owen Cox, Tyler Marcoux, Deven Hannan, Zack Pelletier, Jacob Story, Gunnar Winslow, Ben Cassidy, Austin Taylor, Kurtis Pelletier, Ben St. Laurent, Brendan Bolduc, Cam Sturgis, Jayson Martin, Caden Smith, Will Fletcher and goaltenders Joey Lake and Jacob Smith. Coaches are Tim Smith, Stephen Farrar, Robbie Pelletier, Dave Pelletier and Randy St. Laurent.
