TEMPLE — Raymond T. Wing will be the guest speaker at the Temple Historical Society meeting, at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 19, at the Temple Town Hall.

His topic will be “Using DNA in Genealogical Research.”

DNA testing is a new tool for genealogists and family historians to use to trace ones ancestors. It can be used to trace ancient migration patterns as well as confirm or refute family connections. It does have its limitations, and some of the analysis of DNA testing can be complicated.

Wing will present a basic outline of the different types of DNA tests, what they test for, what the results look like and how to start to interpret the results.

Wing is the genealogist for the Wing Family of America Inc. and has compiled the genealogy on the family, which was published in 2006. He has been working on genealogy since his high school years.

The public is welcome. For more information, contact president Melanie Farmer at 779-0845 or e-mail templehistoricalsociety@gmail.com.
