PJ Mears, of Auburn, will embark upon the second leg of his journey by bicycle from Maine to Florida. On Thursday, April 22, he plans to pick up where he left off last year, in Virginia, and work toward the South Carolina/Georgia border by May 2. The final stage is being planned for late summer. Mears’ trip raises funds for the Good Shepherd Food Bank. Donations can be sent directly at www.gsfb.org or by check made out to GSFB and mailed to 3121 Hotel Road, Auburn, ME 04210. So far, he has raised close to $1,000 dollars, thanks to the generosity of local donors.
