Androscoggin County needs to keep in mind the good things that Elaine Makas has done for the community.

She is a tireless worker in that she sets her sights on a goal and doesn’t quit until it’s accomplished. She successfully spearheaded the effort to raise money to purchase park benches for Veterans Memorial Park in honor of two Lewiston soldiers killed in Iraq. Her commitment is ongoing.

For example, she has volunteered for the Maine PBS Great TV Auction for the past 20 years.

As county commissioner, she has fought for retired county officials who were promised, in writing, lifetime health benefits. She believes the county has to live up to its commitment and honor this written agreement.

She not only looks out for the best interests of Lewiston, but for the entire county, which is why Lewiston voters should elect her in June.
