LIVERMORE FALLS — The Jay Livermore Falls Seniors met at Murray Hall on April 16 with 27 members attending.

Shirley Couture opened the meeting with a prayer, salute to the flag and a moment of silence for departed members and for the men and women serving in the Armed Forces.

On the sick list are Pat Couture, Fernande Doiron and Lois Gordon, who is at CMMC Hospital.

The Secretary’s report was read and accepted. There are only two regular meetings left until the summer break.

Members were reminded that on Monday, May 3, the group will meet at 9 a.m. at Murray Hall to head for Augusta to visit the Statehouse.  Rep. Paul Gilbert will join the group.

A Chinese auction will be held at the Monday, May 10 meeting, with refreshments being donated by Blanche Bilodeau and Jean Luciano. For the last meeting on Monday, May 17, a meal will be held with finger rolls and salads. Gloria Delessandro will bring a cake and ice cream for dessert.

In honor of Marie Gagnon’s 90th birthday on April 27, her daughter Ruth Gagnon brought in a birthday cake and ice cream. Other members celebrating April birthdays include Doris Simoneau, Gloria Delessandro, Barbara Begin, Dora Slovak, Betty Ventrella, Al Knowlton and Jeannette Pomerleau, who is in a nursing home, but celebrating her 100th birthday. George Doiron sang “Happy Birthday” for all.

The 50/50 was won by Alice Demoras. A door prize donated by Marilyn DeSoto was won by Jeannine Williams.
