MONMOUTH — The Monmouth Middle School drama ensemble will present “Shakespeare on the Green: Fun, Frantic and Slightly Fractured Introductions to Shakespeare Plays.”

This comedy, by Amanda Petefish-Schrag and Ben Schrag, will be performed at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 7-8, at Cumston Hall.

The family night of fun features tales from the Bard jampacked with twists and turns. “The Taming of the Shrew,” “King Lear,” “Comedy of Errors,” “Merry Wives of Windsor” and “The Winter’s Tale” have been revamped with comedic subtitling, game show contestants, the 2010 Error Tabulator, French swordsmen, sheep and bears.

Directing “Shakespeare on the Green” is Kathleen Nation. Others involved in the production are Dylan Thombs, Crystal Blair, David Marshall, Sabrina Beck, Mat Foulke, Hannah Grey, Cheyenne Gray, Rhiannon Dumond, Tyler Cote, Robert Vickerson, Sam Blundon, Emily Lombardo, Kerstin Schrioba and Natalie Young.

Also, Kaitlin Riley, Jordyn Mann, Dominque Morin, Sarah Record, Emily Vancil, Hannah Kerrigan, Lily Stewart, Kaylee St. Pierre, Breille Embry, Marcques Houston, Hunter Thompson, Joe Menice, Caleigh Copeland, Mikayla Cameron, Kaitlinn Kluzak and Lilliane Verrill.
