Society program

STRONG — The Strong Historical Society will host “Learning About Genealogy,” with Carole Goodwin, on Wednesday, May 5.

Goodwin will answer questions about tracking down ancestors and family history and how to find records, including the DAR and other hereditary patriotic organizations, publications, rosters and resources that could include the names of ancestors.

A potluck supper will start at 6 p. m. at the society home on Main Street. After a business meeting, Goodwin will present at 7 p. m. There is no charge for the event and attendees are asked to bring a dish to share. For more information, call 684-3613 or 684-2195.

Homemakers fundraiser

CHESTERVILLE — The North Chesterville Extension Homemakers will hold their annual rummage and bake Sale fundraiser from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 8, at the Chesterville Town Office.

The sale will offer many different baked goods and an assortment of rummage sale items. The fundraiser makes it possible for the group to continue their community projects.

Food drive

FARMINGTON — The National Association of Letter Carriers and the carriers at the Farmington Post Office will hold their annual food drive on Saturday, May 8. Anyone can help by placing nonperishable food items in a bag by the mailbox.

Letter carriers will pick up the items and deliver them to a local food bank. There will also be a food drop in the lobby of the Post Office from Wednesday to Friday, May 5 to 8.
