I wonder if Auburn city officials, City Manager Glenn Aho, Councilors David Young, Eric Samson, Daniel Herrick and the others have thought about the elderly who don’t drive or even have cars or drivers licenses. Can they imagine such people pulling their trash containers on wheels the many miles to the MMWAC recycling center?

While city officials have their thinking caps on, they should try thinking about a solid work week for some departments; for example, a Monday through Thursday for some and Tuesday through Friday — a four-day workweek with no layoffs.
