DEAR SUN SPOTS: This is in response to the question about if there were any full-service gas stations. I believe there is still one out on Lisbon Street. It is called Gendron’s, and the number is 782-4022. If I remember correctly, they still have their full service, and they also have self service.

Also, for the Heavenly Hash ice cream lover, last time I checked, they still have no-name brands out there, one store being Save-A-Lot. I’ve also seen them at a few local stores in downtown Lewiston. I hope this helps. — Lacey, Auburn

DEAR SUN SPOTS: For the reader looking for full-service gas stations in the Lewiston-Auburn area, Poisson’s at 260 South Main St. in New Auburn is a full-service facility. They greet you with a smile, clean your windshield, check you oil, do excellent repair work and are a registered Maine Inspection station. It is a family-owned business that has been around many years, and hopefully will be around for many more. The telephone number is 782-9144. — Roland, Auburn

DEAR SUN SPOTS: In response to the inquiry regarding full-service gas stations in the L-A area. There is a full-service gas station in New Auburn. Poisson’s & Sons at 260 South Main St., 782-9144, has been there for at least 40 years that I know of. They are also an inspection station and do mechanical work. DEAR SUN SPOTS: In reference to your May 15 column, I can offer the following information: Poisson’s Auto Care will pump your gas and clean your windshield and check all pertinent engine fluids at their location on South Main Street in New Auburn. Yvonn’s car wash on Lincoln and Main streets in Lewiston will also pump the gas for you but may not have the time to check other fluids. — Jim, Auburn

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The “stuffed strawberry” lady was Susan Eminger. She had appeared on national food shows, offered her goods in a local deli, then set up for business on Grove Street in Auburn. She closed in the summer of 2007. — No Name via e-mail

ANSWER: According to online sources (http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g28940-i175-k1243507-o10-Did_Eminger_Berries_close_down-Maine.html), the business closed in 2007, leaving more than a few disgruntled customers. There is a website, www.emingerberries.com, with some information about the proprietor, Susan, but no opportunity to order berries. According to this site, Susan has a patent on her technique of stuffing strawberries.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: In response to the letter from Louise Dufour (May 11), I make and repair rosaries in my home here in Lewiston. I have been making special rosaries for children being confirmed with their names on them for 11 years. I hope this helps. — Susan Clayton, 795-6959
