LIVERMORE FALLS — Police are investigating a theft of food items from a locked cooler outside the high school.
A Livermore Falls High School food service employee reported to police Monday that about $90 worth of items were stolen from a cooler. A lock was broken to get into it, police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said. Taken was a case of juice boxes, a box of Danish and two cases of strawberry fruit cups, he said.
There was also a complaint registered earlier of littering in the cemetery on Pine Avenue, Steward said. Among the litter were juice boxes, he said.
Also on Monday, police officer Steve Allen issued a summons to Kathy Bell, 51, of Livermore Falls on a charge of theft by unauthorized taking from Pike’s Corner Oasis, Steward said.
Bell, an employee of the store, was reported to have been seen going into the store through a side door and taking a 12-pack of Twisted Tea and two, 18-packs of Coors beer, about $45 worth of items, and then left without paying for them, Steward said.
She came back in and paid for a pack of cigarettes and a bag of ice, he said.
