The U.S.S. Canberra Association, in conjunction with area veterans organizations, conducted services at the Lewiston Memorial Park in recognition of Armed Forces Day. The program opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and the “Star Spangled Banner.” The Rev. Dr. Steven Crowson gave the invocation, Jerry DerBoghosian read a proclamation attributed to Armed Forces Day and the Rev. Richard Bolduc gave the benediction. The service concluded with the singing of “God Bless America.” In attendance, in front, from left, were Paul Bernard, Emil Cloutier, Jerry Der Boghosian, Harry W. Dixon Jr., the Rev. Dr. Steven Crowson, Peggy Rotundo, Armand Bussiere, the Rev. Richard Bolduc, Norman Bussiere, Albert Landry, Diane Bussiere, Bert Dutil, Roland Cyr; back, James Rudy, Charles Soule, Joseph Paradis, Donald T. Dube, Arthur Paradis and Donald Robitaille.
