FARMINGTON — Two Industry residents died late Saturday after the pickup truck they were riding in went off the road, hit a tree stump and rolled on to its side, ejecting both driver and passenger, at the intersection Mosher Hill and Ramsdell roads, Farmington police Lt. Jack Peck said in a prepared statement.

Upon arrival officers discovered that both occupants of the vehicle were deceased., he said

It was determined that the operator was Frankie Gragg, 24, and his passenger was Kateleen Roberts, 21, both of Industry, Peck said.

“It has been determined through preliminary investigation that Gragg had been operating southeast on the Ramsdell Road and lost control at the intersection of the Mosher Hill Road,” he said.

It appears that neither was wearing a seat belt and that excessive speed was a contributing factor, Peck said.

Blood tests were taken and will be sent to the Maine Health and Environmental Testing Lab in Augusta for analysis.

Sgt. Shane Cote of the Farmington Police Department was assisted at the scene by deputies from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department and a trooper from the Maine State Police.
