WILTON — The Chewonki Foundation will present the “Owls of Maine” program at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, at the Wilton Free Public Library.

Chewonki will offer an intimate and detailed look at owls. The highlight of the program will be live, non-releasable barred, great horned and screech or saw-whet owls, which will introduce participants to owls that are native to Maine and New England.

The interactive program will begin with slides and sounds to learn the different appearances and calls of each owl. Then, using talons, wings and skulls, they will explore the adaptations of the silent nocturnal hunters.

The program provides the opportunity to handle the unique specimens and should engage participants of all ages.
