AUBURN — The Maine Franco-American Genealogical Society will hold an open house on Saturday, July 10, at its library at the Great Falls School Building, corner of Academy and High streets. The public is invited to come and meet Bill Fleming, aka “Best Bill” from Quebec Research. The library will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Fleming is renowned to answer queries on Quebec Research and lately has been touring cemeteries all over New York, Western New England and the Ontario Province. He puts his findings on the Quebec Research website for the public to view amongst all the gravestones that he lists. He hails from Liverpool, N.Y. He is coming to renew his membership at the Maine Franco-American Genealogy Society.

The library will waive all guest fees for the open house and the public is invited to start their ancestral lineage and meet other members who may have the same ancestral lineage.

The group is a nonprofit society and all librarians volunteer their time to help others do their research on their Franco linage. At the library, there are between 2,000 and 3,000 books and volumes, a CD collection, the PRDH database, the BMS2000 database, more than 88,000 obituaries and over 200 family names books.
