AUBURN – NAPA Auto Parts continued its winning ways with a crucial 12-6 victory over second-place JFM/Buddy T’s in Auburn Rec softball at Lakeview Field.

NAPA jumped out to an early 7-0 lead before Buddy T’s scored five runs in the bottom of the second and one more in the bottom of the fourth. NAPA added five insurance runs in the top of the sixth and held JFM/Buddy T’s scoreless the rest of the way to secure its second win in a row and move above the .500 mark at 6-5.

Dave Pontbriand and Justin Robash led NAPA’s offense, each going 3-for-3 with two runs scored. Robash belted two doubles and had an RBI.

Demetrius Starks, Terry Goguen, Garrett Foster and Miles Hartford all went 2-for-3. Starks had a double and four RBI with a run scored, while Foster added an RBI and a run scored.

Kevin Pontbriand and Kasey Clark each were 2-for-4. Pontbriand scored two runs, cranked a double and an inside-the-park home run and had three RBIs. Clark scored twice to go with an RBI.

Napa goes for their third win in a row Thursday July 22nd at Pettingill Park at 6PM against another top ranked opponent in the Tail Gators.
