Carmel DePaulin, the handcuff king and jail breaker, who offers a challenge of $25 to anyone who can tie him with 125 feet of rope from which he cannot free himself before the eyes of the people, will be at Tacoma Lakes Sunday afternoon.

Irate because another motorist had cut in front of him, a 22 year-old Lewiston man made a U-turn on Ash Street early Saturday morning and went after the other driver, leaving his wife in the middle of the road where she had fallen after tumbling out of his car.

She was walking around in a state of shock when police arrived and was taken to Central Maine General Hospital for treatment. She apparently was not seriously hurt and was later released from the hospital.

LISBON — After three years of negotiations, selectmen and Adams-Russell Cable TV reached a formal agreement at Tuesday night’s meeting of the board, renewing Lisbon’s cable TV contract.

The pact assures the town of 10 additional miles of cable in areas which do not meet the company’s density standards. Selectmen are expected to be discussing where the extra cable will be installed at a workshop meeting on Aug. 6.
