In a first reading the council approved a street light ordinance as presented with a change to section 7.3 adding the words “no less than” and striking “as feasible.”
Panel awards bidders
Councilors awarded contracts for several pieces of equipment or jobs as follows:
– New 2010 Ford P7B Crown Victoria police cruiser to Quirk Ford on its bid of $19,980.
– Used 65ZV-2 Kawasaki wheel loader to EW Sleeper Co. on its bid of $73,900
– 4-N-1 bucket loader to the Oliver Stores on its bid of $12,305.40
– Steel ejector transfer trailer to Seco on its bid of $57,575
– Line striping to Marking Inc. on its bid of $16,246
– Public Works boiler to Mechanical Services on its bid of $24,910
– Public Works insulation to R.L. Strout and Son, Building Contractors, on its bid of $20,870
MMA votes cast
Each year Maine Municipal Association member communities cast ballots for vice presidents and executive committee members.
Action
Members voted to cast Lisbon ballots for Sophia Wilson, town manager of Brownville, for vice president. For directors for the Board of Directors: Michelle Beal, city manager of Ellsworth, Marston Lovell, Saco councilor, and Robert Yandow, York town manager.
