FRANKFORT (AP) — Police in Frankfort, Maine, say a woman has died after diving off a cliff into water at the Mount Waldo Quarry.

Police say 39-year-old Amy Willey of Bucksport had gone to the quarry for a swim Saturday. They say she dove into water from a height of about 30 feet and did not resurface.

The quarry is owned by the town, and it’s a popular, but dangerous, spot for swimmers. Several people have been killed or injured diving from the quarry in the past 20 years.
