FARMINGTON — The University of Maine at Farmington Preschool is enrolling for fall programming for children 2 1/2- to 5-years-old. The preschool will run from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, beginning Tuesday, Sept. 7.

Hike and bike

AUGUSTA — MaineShare’s annual Hike and Bike event will take place during August. The “smaller footprint” event allows participants to choose their own hike, bike ride or walk from anywhere while raising money for MaineShare.

The event will be held in a virtual format that will save time, paper, fuel and offer more flexibility for participants. With no expenses involved, every dollar raised will go to MaineShare.

Line dancing

WELD — Line dancing classes, sponsored by the Weld Recreation Association, will be extended two weeks by popular demand. Louis “Mad Louie” Moniz Jr. will instruct the classes, to be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Mondays, Aug. 16 and 23, at the Weld Town Hall, 17 School St.

Cost is $16 for the two extra classes if paid in advance or $10 a session for walk-ins. To register, make checks payable to Town of Weld, c/o Jean Sickels, 22 Phillips Road, Weld, ME 04285. The classes are open to every one and no partner is needed. For more information, contact Sickels at 585-2534.

Country music show

SALEM — The Country Chickadee’s will perform at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 15, at the Salem Community Building. All are invited to join Gary and Lois Hall, Colleen Coffren and April Grant for an afternoon of music and fun.

A donation box will be at the door and homemade refreshments will be on sale. Proceeds will benefit the Salem Pine Tree Club.
