POLAND SPRING — The Mollyockett Chorus will perform at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 9, at All Souls Chapel, as part of the Poland Spring Historical Society’s summer concert series.
Mollyockett Chorus began in Norway with a core group of about nine enthusiastic women and, in 1996, became a chapter of Sweet Adelines International. Members sing barbershop-style harmony in four parts: tenor, lead, baritone and bass. This style of music lends itself to a variety of up-tunes and ballads old and new, and some of today’s popular songs and show tunes.
Tickets, $7.50 at the door, include refreshments. Proceeds benefit the preservation of the Maine State Building and the chapel, both of which are listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. For more information, call 998-4142 or visit www.polandspringps.org.
