POLAND — The Thompson Lake Environmental Association will host an “All-American Barbecue,” from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22, at Agassiz Village Camp, off Johnson Hill Road in West Poland. The association invites its friends and neighbors to attend the fourth anniversary of the event.
This year’s feast will feature marinated barbecue chicken, side dishes and homemade desserts with lemonade and water. The price is $15 each person and children 10 and under may eat free. Meals will be served on the porch of the dining hall. When built, the dining hall was the largest freestanding log cabin in the world, according to the camp website.
The Don Campbell Trio will provide entertainment. The group will perform some original songs as well as some well-known “golden oldies.” Some lake association specialty items will be on sale and orders may be taken for the new Thompson Lake blanket throw, which will be ready in the early fall.
Tickets for the event can be purchased or reserved through any association director, on the website, www.thompsonlake.org or call Sharon Rice at 998-2088. Reserved tickets may be paid for at the barbecue.
