WILTON – Two upcoming benefit tournaments are scheduled at Wilson Lake Country Club.

A golf tournament to benefit Martha B. Webber Breast Care Center will take place Thursday, Sept. 9 with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.

Highlights of the scramble format tournament include closest to the pin contests, a longest drive contest, a 50/50 raffle, lunc, and an awards ceremony. Strings and mulligans will be available for purchase.

Rgistration fee is $35 for club members and $55 for nonmembers. Carts are optional but available for $10 per player and must be reserved in advance.

Martha B. Webber Breast Care Center provides women with timely access to state-of-the-art breast cancer screening, diagnostic, clinical, and care-support services. The Center is located in the Franklin Health Medical Arts Center in Farmington and at FMH Outpatient Services in Livermore Falls. It memorializes a Carrabassett Valley resident who died from breast cancer.

The Wilton Tyngtown Club is having a golf tournament and picnic lunch on Saturday, Aug. 28.

Registration materials are available at Wilson Lake Country Club. Additionally, you may send your registration to TTT (Tyngtown Tee Time), P.O. Box 336 Wilton, Maine 04294.

The cost to play 18 holes is $40 per golfer, which includes the picnic lunch. A cart, if desired, is extra.

This will be a scramble event with best ball format and an 8 a.m. shotgun start.

Prizes will include best net and gross scores, longest drives and closest to the pin.

A gournmet picnic lunch will be served from noon to 2 p.m. Non-golfers are invited for $10 per person. Call 645-2829 to reserve your picnic lunch.

Games and music will be featured at the picnic lunch. There will be a putting contest and raffles open to all who wish to try their luck.

Tyngtown Club of Wilton has been in existence for 110 years. Among the many projects that this tournament will benefit are the Wilton Library, The Wilton Preschool Program, the downtown windowbox flowers and various scholarships.
