Music awards

MECHANIC FALLS — The Down East Country Music Association will host its annual awards show from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, at the Silver Spur, Route 121.

Admission is $7 for the general public and $4 for competitors. Entertainment will be provided throughout the afternoon. The food bar will be open, there will be a 50/50 drawing and and several raffle items will be drawn.

Printing workshop

NEW GLOUCESTER — A gel printing workshop using Shaker Village garden herbs will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, at the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village, Route 26.

LEWISTON — The Maine Educational Opportunity Center will host free Essentials of College Planning workshops at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15 and 29, at the Lewiston Career Center, 5 Mollison Way.
