AUBURN — Barbara Going, 79, formerly of Schooner Estates, died peacefully Monday afternoon, August 23, at Clover Manor Health Center, with her family by her side.

She was born Nov. 13, 1930 in East Haven, Conn., the daughter of Theodore and Catherine (Parder) Peters. She married George A. Going on Oct. 13, 1951. They moved to Turner in 1961 and raised their family there. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to raising her family, she worked for many years in the apple industry. She was an avid and terrific baker, making the world’s best chocolate chip cookies. She will be deeply missed by those who loved her.

She leaves her daughters, Peggy Corson and her husband, Steve, Bonnie Spies and her husband, Chip, and Judy Lagasse and her companion, Maurice; her beloved grandchildren, Tammy Bilodeau and her husband, Brent, Neal Lagasse and his companion, Michelle Gravel, Steven Corson Jr. and his wife, Lise Cloutier, Jennifer Lagasse and Kevin, Kate and Alex Spies; and seven extra special great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, George A. Going, in 1986.

Her family will be forever grateful for the seven years of loving care provided by the staff at Schooner Assisted Living. They also wish to thank the special staff at Clover Health Center for their dedication and support, as well as the entire staff of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
