Guided Chair Yoga: Wednesdays, Sept. 8, 15, 22 and 29, 10 to 11 a.m., $32 for the session or $10 each class. Paul Jones will instruct the class, designed for people who may find it difficult to get up and down from the floor. The yoga poses are modified to be performed with the aid of a chair.

AARP Safe Driving: Thursday, Sept. 9, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., $14, payable to AARP. Tom Harvey will instruct the program to help drivers adjust to age-related changes. Drivers 55 and older who complete the class are eligible for discounts on their auto insurance premiums for three years.

Beyond Medications: Taking Control of Arthritis: Friday, Sept. 10, 1 to 2 p.m., free. Margaret Duffy, regional program director, Arthritis Foundation, Northern and Southern New England Chapter, will discuss the the myths and realities of arthritis.

Gentle Basic Yoga: Fridays, Sept. 10, 17, 24 and Oct. 1, 3 to 4 p.m., $32 for the session or $10 each class. Paul Jones will instruct the class, designed for people who have the mobility to get up and down from the floor.

Dementia Information Session: 10 Warning Signs: Monday, Sept. 13, 10 a.m. to noon, free. Ann Quinlan, Alzheimer’s Association, will discuss the many forms of dementia, some of its causes and its warning signs.

Budgeting on a Fixed Income: Wednesday, Sept. 15, 1 to 2 p.m., free. Kim Polley, Community Credit Union, will teach attendees ways to manage on a fixed income.

Create Your Own One-of-a-Kind Journal: Monday, Sept. 20, 10 to 11:30 a.m., $15 for supplies. Julia Clayton will instruct. Limited to 12 students.

The Doctor Is In: Monday, Sept. 20, 2 to 3 p.m., free. Dr. Alan Verrill, MD, FHM, Central Maine Medical Center hospitalist, will provide an introduction to a variety of topics including cholesterol, hypertension, risk factors for diabetes, diet, exercise and basic treatment for acute heart issues and secondary prevention.

Medicare Basics: Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1 to 3 p.m. SeniorsPlus Medicare staff will lead the workshop.

Yoga: What Is It? Can I Do That?: Monday, Sept. 27, 10 to 11 a.m., free. Paul Jones will lead the information session and demonstrate some yoga poses.

The Healing Power of Journaling: Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2 to 3 p.m., free. SeniorsPlus staff member Rhonda Clukey will lead the workshop. Participants will receive a journal and pen.

Writing Your Life: Wednesdays, Sept. 29 to Nov. 3, 5:30 to 7 p.m., free. Connie Jones will lead the class.

Savvy Caregiver Training: Tuesdays, Oct. 5 to Nov. 9, 10 a.m. to noon, free. Ann Quinlan, Alzheimer’s Association will lead the training. To register, call 800-272-3900. The training provides caregivers with the knowledge, skills and attitude essential for successful caregiving.
