NORWAY — September is National Library Card Sign-up Month and the Norway Memorial Library wants to make sure that all children in the SAD 17 school district have one.

Any child that is at least 5 years old and lives within the SAD 17 school district is eligible to get a library card at the Norway Memorial Library.

In honor of National Library Card Sign-up Month, the library’s Children’s Room will host a Library Card Party from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7. All children who do not currently have a library card are invited to join the party. The party will be a drop in event and no preregistration is needed.

Parents can bring their children and while they fill out the library card form, the kids can participate in a craft and stories. Then, parents and children may come back to the library on Tuesday, Sept. 14 to pick up their library card. On that date, library staff will take the children’s photos with their new library card to add to the Reading Tree in the Children’s Room.

For more information on how to sign up for a library card, visit the Norway Memorial Library at 258 Main St., call 743-5309 or visit the library online at www.norway.lib.me.us/.
