The Maineiacs will battle the Moncton Wildcats tonight. Look for updates here and on the Sun Journal Sports Twitter account, as well as at my own Twitter account.
It’s been a very hectic few days here at the paper, right through this morning’s Riverside Drive road collapse.
But yes, the Maineiacs are two games away from being, at least officially, finished with the preseason.
Word from the coaching staff this week was that cuts may happen as soon as tonight following the game, and that the team people see in Fredericton on Friday may be about as close to a regular-season roster as possible.
Most injuries have healed well, and everyone on the team would almost assuredly play if the playoffs began today.
As far as cuts are concerned, the staff says they want to be down to 14 F, 7 D and 3 G by the start of the season. That leaves 2 F, 2 D and 1 G to cut at the moment.
I’ll post more, including some quotes from the staff, later on this afternoon.
