RUMFORD — Rumford Group Homes Inc. recently presented the Plant a Row for the Hungry volunteers with T-shirts and hats to thank them for their donations of fresh fruit and produce throughout the summer months to benefit homeless youth and families.
The Plant a Row Program is operated through a partnership of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension Program and River Valley Healthy Communities Coalition. Master gardeners and local volunteers help to combat local hunger by growing vegetables and donating them to local charities.
Donations from the program assisted clients in Rumford Group Homes Inc. programs including the Rumford Family Center and Transitional Living Programs.
