ELLSWORTH — Students, parents, faculty and administration of RSU 52 are invited to nominate an outstanding full-time teacher for the Patience W. Norman Prize for Teacher Excellence. The prize carries a $5,000 award.
Full-time teachers with a minimum tenure of five years in RSU 52 are eligible for the award. Teachers who stimulate intellectual curiosity, raise aspirations and demand critical thinking in their classrooms are eligible. Prior recipients of the Norman Prize may be renominated after a hiatus of one year. Last year’s Norman Prize winner was William Buzza.
Complete guidelines and a nomination form are available at www.mainecf.org or by calling toll-free 877-700-6800. Completed nomination forms must be received by Friday, Oct. 15.
A selection committee comprised of the Superintendent of Schools, Curriculum Coordinator and Chair of the School Board for RSU 52 will review and select a recipient.
